Planning an electric fence

When planning an electric fence, you need to ask yourself eight basic questions.

• What do I plan to fence in or keep out?
• Which configuration of fence wires do I need for these animals? For more information, see Fence wire configurations.

• Have I 'fenced in a circle' wherever possible?
• Can I more easily charge the fence by having it run near a building that has power so that I can use an AC-powered fence charger?
• How many miles of electrified wire wil I be using?
